Director of Basic Science Faculty Recruitment and Retention Director of Basic Science Faculty Recruitment and Retention VCDO Administration Part Time 72590BR Job Summary The Director of Basic Science Faculty Recruitment and Retention for the Office of Diversity and Outreach (ODO) works to develop and implement a campus strategy to increase the presence of Under-Represented Minorities (URM) in the Basic Sciences and other entities at UCSF. It does so by ensuring a UCSF presence in national settings, implementing evidence-based equity strategies, facilitating ongoing collaboration with Department Chairs, ORU Directors and center leaders and by engaging URM faculty in projects and programs to raise their visibility and allow them to connect to each other and to the larger UCSF community. The director serves as a search concierge to facilitate the connection between applicants and the university throughout the search process. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related area and 10+ years of experience or equivalent experience / training Understanding of the challenges faced by URM faculty in Basic Sciences Ability to develop and deliver a strategic plan to increase diversity within Basic Sciences Expert knowledge of the organizational development and effectiveness field, theories, models to assess, design and implement customized organizational interventions. Knowledge of the organizational environment of higher education and large research universities to understand client priorities, issues, motivations and constraints.
