The person in this role will be part of a new forecasting excellence team which will be an imbedded partner aligned to one of the businesses: Primary Care (Antiviral, mRNA, Vaccines, Internal Medicine), Specialty Care (Immunology & Inflammation, Rare Disease, Hospital), International Developed Markets (IDM), Emerging Markets (EM) and China. Specifically, this person will: a) deliver epi-forecasting tools/ models, training, and forecasting guidance in support of launch and inline products; b) Serve as a Centers of Excellence, providing expert epi-forecasting consultation to BAI leaders, teams, and the business; c) Implement new innovative forecasting capabilities, platforms and process simplification, such as determining the appropriate modeling and analytic approaches to answer business questions; d) Partner with Business Assessment pipeline forecasting team to enable continuity of forecasts as they transition from pre-launch to inline; e) Execute processes (e.g. annual planning) to develop portfolio-level risk and opportunity assessments to Pfizer Biopharma leadership; f) Support enterprise level initiatives and evaluations using analyst reports and other secondary data. The successful candidate will be responsible partnering with BAI brand leads and commercial team members on the execution of product forecasts. They will work closely with cross-functional partners in BAI, Finance, Biopharma, PDA to ensure optimal ways of working to capture and communicate the value of PFEs near-term and in-lien portfolio.This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of brand and therapeutic strategies that are critical to the business. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Role definition and Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Epi-forecasting Center of Excellence Act as an imbedded and strategic partner within and across the BUs to frame and translate complex patient flows into simplified model approaches used by BAI and commercial market colleagues Ability to think creatively and develop new forecasting solutions or approaches that will enable the teams to answer key business questions Determine the appropriate level of forecasting rigor and external insights / analytics required, depending on decision to be made Regularly assess and prioritize support across BUs in-line and launch portfolio Work effectively in a matrixed organization and lead with indirect authority; lead cross functional teams Determine the appropriate modeling and analytic approaches to answer business questions Implement the strategic vision for how to simplify and standardize the execution of epi/complex forecasting at Pfizer, including forecasting platforms, vendor partners, operating model, and other processes Actively manage and oversee external vendors supporting forecast model/ tool development Portfolio-level risk and opportunity assessments to Pfizer leadership Design and execute processes with Finance, Biopharma, and BAI to collect and synthesize forecast assumptions to define risks and opportunities across the portfolio Prepare portfolio level risk and opportunity assessments and interact with executive commercial and research leaders at all levels Support enterprise level initiatives and evaluations using analyst reports and other secondary data Collaboration within BAI and Pipeline Forecasting Team (CSI) Plan for and transition forecasting from top-down pipeline decision forecasting models (CSI) to bottoms-up launch and inline forecasting models – enable continuity of forecasts Partner with BAI brand team members to enable colleagues with forecasting tools/ models Actively contribute to advancement of BAI forecasting capabilities through training, thoughtful tool development and partnership Vendor/ Offshore Resource Management Develop, commission and contract epi- and complex forecasting projects rough preferred vendors. Create and manage budgets associated with assigned activities. Direct workload of flexible staffing resources and identify the need for changes in flexible resources. Be accountable for continuous improvement, as well as the identification/ utilization of new capabilities to maximize the competitive advantages of the business. Serves as an advisor to BAI teams on preferred supplier selection and regular supplier performance reviews. Qualifications 10+ years of work experience 7+ years’ experience in business analytics function, country strategy and/or strategic consulting Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in quantitative discipline; also advanced degree preferred in business administration, statistics, or another relevant field Previous in-depth experience using epi-/complex-forecasting models to forecasting patient demand and revenue Senior Stakeholder management experience required Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in quantitative discipline; also advanced degree preferred in business administration, statistics, or another relevant field Fluent in English (written and spoken) Strong forecast modeling (Excel/Excel VBA, data analysis) and PowerPoint skills Strong presentation skills to executive level leadership and commercial teams Ability to partner with cross-functional teams (in-line BAI, Commercial, Business Assessment) to execute brand forecasting Preferred Qualifications MA, MS, MBA or equivalent advanced degree in business or healthcare Prior experience in biopharma forecasting, life sciences consulting, financial services or other analytical profession Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
