Saint Simons By-The-Sea is currently recruiting for RNs (7p-7a), under the direction of the DON/ADON/House Supervisor, to coordinate routine scheduling of staff, acuity, staffing grid; check on patients frequently and report any condition change to the Supervisor; call physicians for orders; make pertinent charting entries; give ordered medications and treatments; give comprehensive nursing care plans; does patient teaching and follow-up, makes out reports and requisitions.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited too:
Follows hospital policy and procedures regarding daily assignment of RN/LPN and MHA staff including completion of shift assignment sheets.
Receives report from off-going shift and gives a concise, accurate reporting to oncoming nursing staff.
Makes patient rounds independently as needed and assesses particular patient needs with detailed attention to those patients requiring special care.
Organizes, plans, assigns, supervises, and evaluates and is responsible for direct nursing care given within the units. Communicates problems or concerns to the nurse manager/House Supervisor.
Develops and updates multidisciplinary treatment plans as needed and contributes to treatment team planning, as required.
Serves as a liaison between nursing service and other departments in day-to-day working situations.
Assists in evaluation of nursing care services reporting problems and suggestions for improvement to the nurse manager/House Supervisor.
Assists and instructs staff in special procedures or treatments. Implements emergency procedures, including restraints and seclusion.
Writes incident reports as needed for patients and assists with Employee Injury reports for staff.

All qualified candidates must have:
Registered Nurse license within the State of Georgia
Must possess a minimum of a Degree in Nursing, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
1+ year Nursing experience, preferably in Psych Nursing
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be certified in CPR
