Azure SQL Database analyst works with Complex SQL query and stored procedure and data pipelines to move data into Datawarehouse and Data Mart.
Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement business objectives.
Collaborate with key stake holders and find simplified approaches to business complexities, meets task deadlines while delivering high-quality work.
Manage SQL databases through multiple product life-cycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems in accordance with established IS team policies and procedures.
Supports CMS Master Data Management goals by leveraging SQL and non-SQL data sources in the enterprise data warehouse data lake and pipeline (EDW) Data Factory, SSIS packages, Pipelines.
Develops and promotes Enterprise Data Warehouse standard operating procedures, evaluates new systems and ensures that all current systems are configured in compliance with applicable CODE repository management and security standards (e.g. HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001).
Proactively engages with IS leadership to recommend enhancements and mitigate risks within the Azure SQL environment.
Defines models to support data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization and reporting tools.
Work closely with business owners to understand requirements for data visualizations
Build, support, maintain and optimize highly available databases in the Azure.
Interface with Business stakeholders and data analysist to advise on database best practices and to assist with database related project initiatives.
Educate other CMS IS team and wider Infrastructure team on technology and best practices.
Manage user access and database security. Assist with audit compliance procedures.
Find areas for improvement within existing processes and implement best practice changes.
Create clear documentation for technical audiences and update existing documentation.
Be a subject matter expert in databases and cloud database services with a focus on SQL Server and Microsoft Azure.
Respond to and provide updates on projects or tickets assigned through internal systems with complete notes, milestones, and estimated time of completion.
Provide regular updates on all projects and identify potential risks to management.
Create knowledge base articles for tier-one support engineers to use in response to routine incidents.
Serve as technical second tier escalation for incidents or problems which could be related to the database environment.
Assist in debugging software from a database ETL perspective.
Analyze capacity and performance for all database infrastructure to ensure availability, growth, data analysis visualization platforms including but not limited to Tableau, Power BI and Excel. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
B.A. / B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant experience.
5 + years of with Azure SQL Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or Application Development, required
5+ years’ experience as a database administrator ( Azure SQL Server)
5 + years’ experience building SQL queries
5 + years in a medical Practice and Revenue cycle management
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience Active Directory, user and group security applied to SQL databases
Security standards and implementation of security procedures to maintain compliance with security requirements
Proven experience with Azure SQL database solutions, specifically, Microsoft Azure
Proven experience building, supporting, and maintaining databases within the cloud
Experience in consistently upgrading databases to SQL Server and Windows
Experience performing database migrations
Database technology certifications or training is desired (MCSA, MCSE, Azure, etc.)
