Tesla is seeking an Infotainment Product Support Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. You will be the bridge between global technicians and product development. By using in-house tools, partnering with design and manufacturing, and working collaboratively with software developers, you will keep vehicles driving on the road for hundreds of thousands of electric miles. Diagnose complex electromechanical systems with heavy software content
Develop diagnostic tools, diagnostic procedures or diagnostic information
Perform complex vehicle diagnostics remotely with global service technicians with custom-built diagnostics tools and diagnostic platform
Provide service technicians with tools, information, and development that empowers them to diagnose vehicles more effectively.
Analyze large data sets to predict trends and make meaningful conclusions
Recognize trends and patterns in field failures and feedback to the development team by distilling the relevant information from the field, prioritizing, and providing tangible and actionable information.
Work with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to make sure that issues are fully investigated and that countermeasures are in place, for hardware and firmware.
Strong verbal and written communication – you must be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical people as well as peers and people from different parts of the organization.
Clear and intuitive understanding of diagnostic processes
Ability to identify emerging failure trends, determine root cause and implement solutions
Self-managing and self-motivated
Experience with safety-critical applications, heavily-regulated industries, consumer products, automotive, or electronics repair.
Two years Electrical or Software engineering experience with specialization in one or more of the following areas:
Networking (IP, dhcp, dns, different layers)
Modem, (AT commands)
Cellular knowledge (PS/CS attach state, cellular networks, cellular bands, APN, reception)
regional requirements for various connectivity technologies
Linux systems and tool development
