The Lean Team is a central manufacturing team that works to promote operational excellence across the Fremont manufacturing sites. This is done by closely partnering with all cross-functional teams such as Quality, Safety, Production, Industrial Engineering, etc. in order to identify business needs and provide services such as coaching, rapid improvement event facilitation, and more. We’re Tesla so we aren’t looking for ordinary, run-of-the-mill person; we’re looking for innovative, engaging and impactful people that can drive two of the core programs within the team which are the Continuous Improvement program and the Rapid Response program. The Continuous Improvement program is a recognition program aimed at engaging the entire workforce to become problem solvers. The rapid response program is a one week facilitated problem solving event where a Lean Engineer coaches a local cross-functional group through a real life problem.
The Lean Engineer is responsible for being a subject matter expert in the concept of Lean. With this knowledge the Engineer will help to identify problems, facilitate or manage projects, provide consultation, and work with the management team to ensure efficient business operations.
